PHNOM PENH, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen left here on Sunday for a series of international meetings in China's Macao and Beijing to be held from Oct. 12 to 17, a senior official said.

Sry Thamarong, minister attached to the prime minister, said Hun Sen will attend the Global Tourism Economy Forum Macao 2015, the Asian Political Parties' Special Conference on the Silk Road, the 2015 Global Poverty Reduction and Development Forum, and the 6th Xiangshan Forum, a platform for discussing security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

"At the tourism forum in Macao, the prime minister will deliver a keynote address to encourage people-to-people relations and to promote Cambodia's cultural and ecological tourism to the world," he told reporters at Phnom Penh International Airport before the departure.

After the forum, Hun Sen will fly to Beijing for the Asian Political Parties' Special Conference on the Silk Road to be held from Oct. 14 to 16.

"The revival of the Silk Road is very important to bridge relations among countries along the route in all fields, ranging from politics to economics, trade, investment, tourism and culture, " said Thamarong.

Commenting on the sixth Xiangshan Forum, the official said the forum was vital to discuss ways to avert wars and to increase mutual trust and confidence in order to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
