YANGON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Two bodies have so far been found in a recent flash flood in Kalewa, northwestern Sagaing region of Myanmar, triggered by heavy rainfall over the last three days, an official report said Sunday.
The flash flood swept away 16 people with the rest also fearing dead along with dozens of cattle.
A total of 81 hectares of farmland are underwater due to the flood in the Phonethone Creek in the township.
Rescue operation is underway in the flood-hit area.
Myanmar's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced Saturday that heavy rain is expected in some five regions and states including Sagaing region over the next two days.
Since mid-July, Myanmar experienced continuous heavy rainfall that killed over a hundred people, affecting nearly one million of population and destroying over 486,000 hectares of farmland.
