ANKARA, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- At least 30 were killed and 126 others injured on Saturday after two explosions in the Turkish capital of Ankara, Turkish Interior Ministry said.

The explosions hit a train station where several unions, civic society organizations and pro-Kurdish People's Democracy Party were due to hold a rally.

Hundreds of people had gathered at the station when the blasts occurred, private Dogan news agency reported.

The attack may be carried out by suicide bombers, the report added, citing several witnesses.

The train station is badly damaged and ambulances have arrived at the site, the report said.

NTV reporter described explosion scene as "severe" with fearful people.

Witnesses said the first blast took place in front of a train station and the second occurred across the station.

The rally aimed to protest conflict between the state and Kurdish militants in southeast Turkey.
