A few English essays written by high school students in China have amazed readers thousands of miles away in the UK. Looking at the near-perfect handwriting, many British are stunned.

All students at Hengshui Middle School in north China's Hebei province are taught to grasp the italics and try to write each English letter in a perfectly identical way. Their essays look as if they were printed.

Hengshui Middle School, about 300km south of Beijing, is one of the best boarding schools in China, well known for military-style management and above-average performance of its students in college entrance examination.
