ABUJA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Sixteen people have been confirmed dead following three suicide attacks on Wednesday in Nigeria's Damaturu city, capital of the northeastern state of Yobe, the state-run relief agency said.
Ten people injured in the attack have been transported to a state-owned health facility for treatment, the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency said in a statement signed by its coordinator, Musa Jidawa.
Two suicide bombers wearing jackets strapped with improvised explosive devices blew up themselves at a business district near a place known as Buhari Estate in the Damaturu metropolis, the statement said. These two suicide attacks occurred at about 6 a.m. local time, when early birds were on their way to respective places of work.
