HONG KONG, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's share prices closed up 1. 2 percent on Wednesday with the weighted index up 101.13 points at 8,495.23, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 92.87 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.84 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.
