RIYADH, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and six others injured Tuesday in an armed attack on a bank in Saudi Arabia's southwest region of Jizan, local media reported.
A young man carrying a machine gun stormed Al Rajhi bank in Jazan, according to Sabq news website.
Security forces managed to arrest the attacker after a fire exchange and freed a number of hostages who were inside the bank, the report said.
It is still unknown if the attack was a terrorist or criminal one.
Saudi Arabia has been fighting terrorism for years, but the efforts increased after a number of suicide blasts that targeted a number of mosques.
