MUNICH, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- A bomb has been found in the courtyard of the German Museum ( Deutsches Museum) in Munich Tuesday noon, according to local police.

Most buildings of the museum have already been evacuated. According to a spokesperson of the museum, Deutsches Museum will then be closed for the whole day and employees will get a day off.

Experts are to make sure if there is an igniter of the 250 kg bomb, which is believed to be a bomb from the Second World War.

According to local fire department, defusing work should still be performed during the day, but it is not clear how long it will take.

The Deutsches Museum, established in 1903, is among the world's oldest and largest museums of science and technology.
