1st LD: Blast rocks Afghan capital, casualties unknown
KABUL, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Casualties were feared after an explosion rocked the western part of Afghan capital of Kabul on Monday night, said witnesses and local media.
The attack took place at around 8:00 p.m. (1530 GMT) along Dar- ul-Aman road. The nature of the blast remained unknown, a security source told Xinhua anonymously.
"The incident occurred near the parliament building opposite to the Russian embassy. We still cannot provide details on causalities. There is fear of possible causalities," the source said, adding that details will be revealed to the public later as more information is obtained.
Unofficial sources said the house of a lawmaker came under attack by a suicide bomber. At least three attackers were involved in the attack as several rounds of gunshot were fired following the blast.
Security forces have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures. Enditem
