KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- After fierce fighting, Taliban militants entered the capital of Afghanistan's northern province of Kunduz on Monday and surrounded the provincial police department, a police spokesman in the Kunduz city said.
"Taliban have surrounded provincial police department and I am calling upon central government to dispatch reinforcement," Sayed Sarwar Hussaini told Xinhua.
However, he said clashes have been continuing in different parts of the city and the security forces would do their best to repulse the Taliban offensives.
