BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang met in Beijing on Tuesday with New Zealand guests attending the second China-New Zealand Partnership Forum, and a delegation from the Biotechnology Industry Organization of United States.

Wang told the former that there was much potential for cooperation between China and New Zealand, as the two countries negotiate on an upgrade of a China-New Zealand free trade agreement.

In particular, he called for more partnerships in the dairy industry, education and tourism.

In his meeting with the U.S. guests, Wang said developing the bio-tech industry was a strategic priority for the Chinese government. He vowed the country would better protect intellectual property rights, improve the drug approval system and introduce policies favoring development of the bio-tech industry.
