BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- China on Monday congratulated Nepal on the promulgation of its new constitution.
"We expect Nepal to use this as an opportunity, achieving the nation's unity, stability and development," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said at a daily press briefing.
"China attaches great importance to the China-Nepal ties, and is willing to continue the friendly cooperation between the two nations," Hong said, adding that China will provide as much help as it can for the economic and social development of Nepal.
The new constitution was promulgated on Sunday afternoon.
