TAIPEI, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Nine people are missing after a boat capsized off Taoyuan City in northern Taiwan in the early hours of Friday morning, the island maritime and port bureau said.
The fishing boat, "Shih Hui No. 31", which had departed from northern Taiwan's main port of Keelung, collided with a cargo ship, the "Asia Cement No. 2". The missing are a Taiwanese captain, four fishermen from Chinese mainland and four fishermen from Indonesia, according to the bureau.
Taiwan's coast guard has dispatched vessels and a helicopter to search for the crew. The rescue operation and an investigation into the cause of the collision are under way.
