LONDON, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and British youth should learn from each other and carry on the friendship between the two countries, visiting Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong said Thursday.

The vice premier made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the 5th China-Britain Young Leaders Roundtable.

Under the theme of "Building Partnerships for Innovation and Entrepreneurship," the meeting of young leaders is in keeping with today's trends and also highlights the deepening cooperation between the two countries, Liu said.

Young people are the most dynamic and creative group, Liu said, noting that youth combined with innovation can bring their capabilities to full play.

Young people are the hope of a country as they will become the leaders of the future, she said.

"I hope that the young people of China and Britain can dare to be the first, become pioneers of innovation and entrepreneurship, learn from each other and carry on the friendship between the two countries," she said, adding that young people should face the future and become protectors of world peace.
