CHENGDU, China, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Both Beijing's men and women's wheelchair basketball teams beat Guangdong in two finals at the ninth Chinese National Games for Disabled here on Thursday.

China's top two men's wheelchair basketball team clashed in this afternoon's final. Guangdong was 12-14 down after the first quarter before Beijing fired 10 points in a row to extend the advantage.

Guangdong cut the deficit from 12 points before the halftime to six points in the third quarter thanks to its leading scorer Lin Yinhai. The national team's small forward became well-known by shooting nine three-pointers in the group stage game against Henan province.

Lin's national teammate, Yanglei, helped Beijing enhance their lead with consecutive shot in the paint zone. The defending champion finally edged Guangdong 68-58.

Lin was limited to two three-pointers but still managed to score a game-high 28 points.

In another Beijing-Guangdong clash, Beijing women's team beat Guangdong 47-39 to win the gold medal.

"Guangdong played well in the final but we may do better dealing with details," said Beijing men's center Yang Lei.

On Sept. 18, Yang and Lin will meet again in Beijing to train for next month's Asian Wheelchair Basketball Championships. As teammates, they will fight for a ticket to next year's Rio Paralympic Games.
