BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- A 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit the waters off the coast of Yilan county in Taiwan at 9:08 p.m. on Wednesday, said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 24.3 degrees north latitude and 121.9 degrees east longitude. The quake jolted the area with a depth of 7 km, according to the CENC.
