LONDON, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- It's 63 years and 216 days. Queen Elizabeth II will on Wednesday become the longest-reigning British monarch in history, superseding her great-great-grandmother Victoria's record.
Here are some facts about the Queen, "the only monarch most living Britons have ever known."
-- The Queen was born on April 21, 1926, christened on May 29, 1926, and was confirmed on 28 March 1942 in the private chapel at Windsor Castle.
-- She acceded to the throne at the age of 25, after the death of her father King George on Feb.6, 1952.
