#Energy Deals

Russian President Putin just visited China and attended China's commemoration events of the end of WWII and war of resistance against Japanese Aggression on Sept. 2-3.

RT reported that energy deals between Russian oil major Rosneft and Chinese partners will be worth more than $500 billion in the next 20 years, according to Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin.

Rosneft is Russia's largest publicly traded oil company.

"Taking into account mutual trade and the existing contracts, the total value of cooperation of our company through 2035 will amount to $500 billion at current prices," Sechin said during the Eastern Economic Forum on Friday.

Moscow and Beijing are negotiating an increase in Russian oil supplies to China, said the chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Wang Yilin.

#Generation Gap

The Economist published an article focusing on different attitudes towards family life between different generations in China.

The report "looks at the sharp rise in young Chinese happy to live by themselves; the next at old people less happy to do so."

It noted the phenomena that more Chinese young people chose to live alone without their parents even "Chinese culture attaches a particular high value to the idea that families should live together."

The article concluded the difference as follows: "in many countries leaving the family home well before marriage is a rite of passage. But in China choosing to live alone and unmarried is eccentric verging on taboo."

#China's Film Industry

Eyeing China's rapidly booming film industry, Chinese companies are seeking cooperation with Hollywood to exploiting domestic market through its own channels.

China, which accounted for most of the growth in global movie ticket sales last year, is projected to overtake the U.S. in box-office receipts by 2020.

Bloomberg said in its report that Chinese companies, such as Alibaba, Dalian Wanda Group, Huayi Brothers Media want to funnel films through their media outlets at home, as well as deepen their understanding of the lucrative business in deal with U.S. Studios.

The report pointed out that "Hollywood is happy to help" too because it needs the cash plus access to theaters in China, where the number of imported movies are limited.
