BUCHAREST, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Romanian border police has caught three Syrian sailors on a vessel harbored in the Black Sea port of Constanta, attempting to cross the border with Hungary, according to a press release Friday.
Police officers found the three Syrian citizens before dawn on Thursday, adding the suspects were escorted to the border police station for investigation.
The Syrians, aged 23-27, had left without permission their vessel stationed in eastern port of Constanta and traveled over 800 km to western Romania with the ultimate goal of reaching to Germany, police said.
