SHANGHAI, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The free trade agreement between China and the Republic of Korea will unleash more benefits for the two countries' businesses and people, ROK President Park Geun-hye said on Friday in Shanghai.

She made the remarks at a China-ROK business cooperation forum held in the city.

"A deeper and broader economic cooperation between China and the Republic of Korea, with combined economic output of 12 trillion U.S. dollars, will help the two countries weather the world economic downturn," Park said.

Park urged the business community from China and the ROK to strengthen cooperation in health, culture, agriculture and environmental protection.

Park also said companies from the two countries should get involved in regional infrastructure investment through the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to boost economic growth.

China and ROK have experienced growing cooperation in auto, semiconductor and the culture industry despite downward pressure facing the global economy.
