China's top legislator meets Argentine vice president

BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese top legislator Zhang Dejiang met with Argentine president's representative Amado Boudou after China held a grand military parade at Tian'anmen Square on Thursday.

Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), thanked Boudou, Argentine vice president and head of the Senate, for attending the commemoration marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Argentina last year and the two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership, ushering in a new phase of bilateral relations, said Zhang.

China's NPC is willing to implement the joint statement and exchange legal experience in economic restructuring and improving people's livelihood, said Zhang.

Boudou conveyed the great respect of Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and the Argentine people for the contributions made by the Chinese people to WWII victory.

Argentina attaches great importance to bilateral ties and hopes to deepen cooperation in different fields, said Boudou.
