BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares closed lower on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.27 percent to close at 2,927.29 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 2.92 percent to close at 9,899.72. The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, shed 5.06 percent to end at 1,890.04.
