4 Russian tourists killed in road accident in southern Turkey

ISTANBUL, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least four Russian tourists were killed and 38 other people were injured in a road accident in southern Turkey, local Dogan News Agency reported on Thursday.

The report said the accident happened as a bus carrying Russian, Ukrainian, Belarussian and Kazakh tourists rolled over on a slippery mountain road from Pamukkale to the popular southern resort of Antalya.

The Russian Embassy in Turkey has earlier confirmed the death of the four of its nationals, saying some consular staff have rushed to the accident site.

The report also said that the injured people were transferred to hospitals and the police launched an investigation into the accident.
