TOKYO, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended 0.01 percent higher in the morning session of Friday on firm domestic companies ' earnings from April to June.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 2.46 points from Thursday to end the morning session at 20,525.29. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 6.40 points, or 0.39 percent, at 1,653.61.
Gainers were led by financing business, shipping and air transport issues.
