Croatian Navy ship to join Operation Triton in Mediterranean

ZAGREB, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A Croatian Navy ship sailed to the Mediterranean on Thursday to join the European Union humanitarian mission Triton, which launched in 2014 at the request of Italy.

The ship "Andrija Mohorovicic" with a 54-member crew left the Lora naval base, located in the Croatian coast city of Split, and would support Italy in the central Mediterranean for guarding the sea border and saving migrants, the Croatian News Agency Hina reported.

Its mission was scheduled for three months, the report said.

The "Andrija Mohorovicic" was built for Croatian Navy in 1971, in Gdansk, Poland. Enditem
