RIO DE JANEIRO, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Gremio have agreed on a deal to sell central defender Rhodolfo to Besiktas, the Brazilian club said on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old will join the Turkish outfit for the beginning of the new season next month following weeks of negotiations, according to ESPN Brasil. No financial details were given of the deal.
"Rhodolfo has signed a definitive agreement and we are happy with the outcome," Gremio president Romildo Bolzan said.
"Gremio will receive the cash almost totally as a one-off payment. We thank Rhodolfo for everything he has done and wish him luck."
Rhodolfo was appointed captain of Gremio earlier this year and made 63 appearances for the Porto Alegre club after his 2013 arrival from Sao Paulo.
