BERLIN, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese talented attacking midfielder Zhang Xizhe returns to his former club Beijing Guoan, the "Wolves" confirmed during a press conference on Wednesday.

Zhang Xizhe returns with immediate effect to his former club Beijing Guoan after just six month with the German Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.

"I have learned a lot in the last month, not only in soccer terms. I am very grateful for these new experiences. I have been close to make an appearance in the Bundesliga but I also have to ascertain that the quality within the team as well as the level in the Bundesliga is very high," the Chinese international said.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder joined the "Wolves" in January 2015 after putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2017.

"It was his wish to join his former club in China to make use of his acquired experiences for a comeback into China's national squad," Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs said.
