China's May PPI down 4.6 pct

BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhua) -- China's producer price index (PPI), which measures wholesale inflation, slid 4.6 percent year on year in May, official statistics showed Tuesday.

BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, grew 1.5 percent year on year in April, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced on Saturday.

The reading slightly rebounded from 1.4 percent in March and 0.8 percent in January, the lowest level in more than five years.  Full Story

Chinese economy can achieve "soft landing": OECD report

PARIS, June 3 (Xinhua) -- China's economy can achieve a "soft landing," according to Alvaro Pereira, a director at the Economics Department in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
