ALGIERS, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Members of the new central committee of the ruling National Liberation Front (FLN) on Saturday in Algiers reelected incumbent Secretary General Ammar Saadani for a new term of five years.
Saadani was first elected as Secretary General of FLN in September 2013, replacing Abdelaziz Belkhadem.
After being reelected, Saadani, 65 years old, addressed the audience saying that "the FLN has to be a guide, and this requires its members and its senior officials to live up to the mission of our revolution martyrs."
Earlier in the day, Saadani, who headed the party's National Preparatory Committee for the 10th Congress, pronounced the list of the 504 members of the central committee of the party, after being approved unanimously by the party's delegates.
