Chinese premier sends congratulations on China-Russia youth concert

MOSCOW, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Friday sent a congratulatory message over a concert held here by a Chinese-Russian youth symphony orchestra.

In his message, Li said the concert, organized to commemorate the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, is of special significance, as this year marks both the 70th anniversary of that victory and the China-Russia Youth Friendly Exchange Year.

He urged the youth of both countries to remember history and carry forward the baton of friendship between the two nations.

The premier also suggested that the young generations of the two neighbors boost exchanges and learn from each other, so as to continuously inject fresh vigor into the development and rejuvenation of both countries.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also sent a message of congratulations over the concert.

He said the although the orchestra is young, it has become a symbol of youth exchanges between Russia and China.

He also expressed his confidence that the performance will definitely leave a deep impression on its audience upon the 70th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War.
