BEIJING, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday congratulated Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev on his re-election.
In a message, Xi said that China and Kazakhstan are good friends, good neighbors and good partners who trust and help each other.
Bilateral relations have seen rapid and sound development since the two countries established diplomatic ties with the deepening of political mutual trust, mutually beneficial cooperation and strategic coordination, said Xi.
The Chinese leader said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Kazakhstan relations, and expressed his willingness to join hands with Nazarbayev to bring the China-Kazakhstan comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level for the benefits of the two countries and two peoples.
Preliminary results announced earlier Monday show that Nazarbayev won more than 97.7 percent of the vote in Sunday's presidential election, giving him another five years in office.
