PARIS, March 24 (Xinhua) -- French President Francois Hollande said there might be no survivors from the ill-fated Germanwings passenger jet A320 which crashed on Tuesday in southern France.
In a brief statement, Hollande said: "The conditions of the accident, which are not yet clear, suggest there would be no survivors in this tragedy that happened in France."
Hollande, who is expected to meet Spain's King Felipe VI on a state visit, also expressed France's solidarity with Germany, Spain and the family members of the victims of the crash.
The Airbus A320 of the German low-cost airline Germanwings crashed Tuesday around 11:00 local time (1000 GMT) in southern France. About 142 passenger and 6 crew members were on board.
