BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Having Chinese company build the Malaysia-Singapore high-speed rail is absolutely advantageous, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce's Life Honorary President Datuk Yong Ah Pwi said to local media.
Malaysia-Singapore high-speed rail is an important part of the Trans-Asian Railway(TAR).
China is Malaysia's largest trading partner and has the world's leading high-speed railway technology with relatively low cost, said Datuk Yong Ah Pwi.
Connected north and south, the TAR will drive economic growth in Malaysia and Southeast Asia once completed. Malaysia, as a distribution center of logistics and flow of people in the center of Southeast Asia, will benefit most from the TAR, he added.
