NEW YORK, March 10 (Xinhua) -- New York City has kicked off its Spring Music Time with an array of famed singers and musicians scheduled to perform throughout the city, local media reported Tuesday.

Pop music's biggest breakout star of the year, Ariana Grande, launched her first North American tour, known as the Honeymoon tour, in the wake of her Billboard #1 album, My Everything. The tour will stop at New York's Madison Square Garden on March 20, 2015.

Upon its release, My Everything topped the Billboard 200, selling 169,000 copies in its first week.

Inventive singer, songwriter, composer and creative polymath Bjork appeared at Carnegie Hall last Sunday as part of a New York residency that includes more shows at the nearby Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Kings theater in Brooklyn and New York City Center.

A MoMA exhibition chronicles Bjork's career drawing from more than 20 years of the artist's innovative projects and her eight full-length albums.

Stevie Wonder has extended last year's Songs in the Key of Life tour, and will bring performances of his classic 1976 album to 11 more U.S. cities this spring, with the finale coming on April 12 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Wonder has recorded more than 30 U.S. top 10 hits and received 25 Grammy Awards, the most ever awarded to a male solo artist. Wonder is also noted for his work as a political activist.

The Australian rapper-turned-global-pop-star Iggy Azelea will stop in Barclays Center on May 7 as part of her international 2015 Great Escape Tour.

A native of Sydney, Azelea, 24, earned four Grammy nominations this year, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Rap Album.

The Who will be celebrating a half-century of rock majesty with The Who Hits 50! North American tour this year. The band -- led by songwriter-guitarist Pete Townshend and frontman Roger Daltrey -- will kick off their spring run on April 15 in Florida and conclude on May 30 in Forest Hills, New York.

According to a press release, the Who's 2015 set lists will span the entirety of the band's iconic catalog -- from early classics from the albums "Who's Next' and "Tommy", up to present-day material.

In addition, The Decemberists, Chet Faker, The Mountain Goats, Manic Street Preachers, ILoveMakonnen, Azealia Banks, are also scheduled to bring their hits during their tours with one or two live performances in the Big Apple.
