Germany's benchmark DAX index continues to rise

FRANKFURT, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday continued to rise and closed above 11,400 points.

As the tensions of the Greek bailout talks eased, the blue-chip index gained 74.47 points, or 0.66 percent, and closed at 11,401.66 points.

Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care group, advanced the most by climbing 3.41 percent. Deutsche Telekom AG rose by 2.96 percent. Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. went up by 2.44 percent. The utilities comany E.ON SE added 2.12 percent and Continental AG went up by 1.33 percent.

Only three out of the 30 DAX member shares suffered losses on Friday. The chemical giant BASF SE dropped by 1.57 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor and system producer, slipped by 0.81 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa AG fell by 0.57 percent.

The turnover stood at 4.57 billion euros (5.12 billion U.S. dollars). Volkswagen AG Vz was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 529.75 million euros.( 1 euro = 1.12 U.S. dollars)
