MONTEVIDEO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions San Lorenzo scored twice in the last five minutes to clinch a dramatic 2-1 victory over Uruguay's Danubio in their opening Copa Libertadores group match on Thursday.

Matias Castro's 11th minute strike looked set to hand the hosts a memorable victory at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.

But Mauro Matos' low finish drew the Argentine outfit level before Mauro Cetto thumped in an angled header with two minutes left.

"It wasn't the type of win we were hoping for but we got three points as the visitors and that is a good result," Matos said.

"The pitch didn't help us but we gave everything, ran, and did all we could to win. We managed to get what we came for."

In other matches on Thursday, Colombia's Atletico Nacional drew 2-2 at Paraguay's Libertad and Bolivia's San Jose won 2-0 at home to Argentina's River Plate.
