BEIJING, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- A 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck east coast of Japan's Honshu at 7:06 a.m. Tuesday, with a depth of 10 km, the China Earthquake Networks Center reported.

The epicenter was determined to be at 39.9 degrees north latitude and 144.5 degrees east longitude.
