HAVANA, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Cuba Domadores beat Mexico Guerreros
with a score of 4-1 on Saturday as the island remains undefeated in
Season V of World Series of Boxing (WSB).
The Cuban team faced Guerreros in the Olympic Gym of
Aguascalientes city, in central Mexico. Domadores only lost one
fight during the stage, the fifth of the current season.
In the first fight, Mexican Joselito Fernandez, 49-kg
Pan-American champion, defeated young Cuban Johanys Argilagos with
a score of 3-0 (48-47, 49-45, 48-46). This was Mexico's only
victory in this stage.
The second fight for the 56-kg category, Cuban Andy Cruz faced
Mexican Brian Morales, who failed a lot, which made Cruz to win
with a score of 3-0 (49-46, 49-46, 49-46).
After Cruz's victory, Cuba's domain increased first with the
victory of Arlen Lopez, who fought his best fight with combinations
and sideways body movements, against Mexican Misael Rodriguez with
a score of 3-0 (49-46, 49-46, 49-46).
Later, the twice world champion in the 64-kg category, Yasnier
Toledo defeated Mexican Raul Curiel, in a fight combining left
beats and hooks. Toledo won with a score of 3-0 (50-45, 50-45,
50-45).
The last victory on Saturday's night was the easiest one for
Domadores, since Erislandy Savon defeated Mexican Daniel Paniagua
by default, as Paniagua was overweight and could not fight.
With these results, Cuba remained undefeated for five
consecutive weeks and reached 15 points with a 24-1 won-lost
record.
On Feb. 20 Domadores will face British Lionhearts in Havana's
Sports City.
The tournament's final will be held in Dubai, the United Arab
Emirates, on June 11 and 12. Enditem
