DHAKA, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The body of a four-year-old boy, who was trapped in a narrow well for about 24 hours, was recovered in the capital of Dhaka on Saturday.

Shortly after being pulled out from the well by rescuers, the boy was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. But doctors declared him dead.

The boy, named Ziad, fell into a 500-foot-deep abandoned well of a water pump at around 3:00 p.m. local time (0900 GMT) Friday when he along with other boys was playing in a ground adjacent to his Railway Colony residence.
