BEIJING, Feb. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- To date, small-amount loans have been offered to 90 percent of Tibet's farmers and herders, according to the Agricultural Bank of China Tibet Branch.
Meanwhile, the branch has introduced loans for the comfortable housing projects for rural Tibetans, enabling 50,000 herders to end their nomadic life.
Moreover, it has extended 3.83 billion yuan RMB in poverty-reduction loans, benefiting 200,000 households of Tibetan farmers and herders.

Tibet's small-amount farm loan coverage higher than national average
BEIJING, Jan. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- About 90 percent of rural residents in Tibet have obtained small-amount farm loans from the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), China's major state-owned commercial bank, outpacing the national average of 34 percent.
By the end of 2009, Tibet's financial industry had posted the balance of deposits of over 100 billion yuan (14.65 billion U.S. dollars) and the balance of loans of 24.8 billion yuan. Full story
ABC grants 3 bln yuan loans to rural Tibetans in first 3Q
BEIJING, Oct. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The Tibet Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) extended loans totaling 3.02 billion yuan in the first three quarters to Tibetan farmers and herdsmen, with the loan balance hitting 5.07 billion yuan.
The branch has been offering small amount credits to rural Tibetans, in order to help them set up their own businesses and increase their incomes. With no mortgages required, such credits are widely popular among farmers and herdsmen. Full story
Tibetan farmers benefit from small-amount bank credits
