BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- The Tibet Autonomous Regional Government plans to spend 10 million yuan (1.47 million U.S. dollars) this year developing high-end cultural tourist products in the region, according to a senior official Thursday.
Tibet is abundant and unique in cultural relics resources and has 4,268 cultural relics sites, said Yudawa, deputy director of Tibet's Cultural Department and director of Tibet's Cultural Relics Bureau, at a conference attended by leading officials of the two departments at all levels.

"With consistent efforts of Tibet's cultural relics bureaus in recent years, the reception capacity and services of Tibet's cultural relics sites have improved greatly," he said.
While paying close attention to the cultural relics protection, the government will also promote the development of the culture sector with cultural heritage characteristics, said Yudawa, adding that it will also industrialize the products and make local brands famous.
The regional government has been formulating supporting policies to enhance the growth of Tibet's culture sector and hold a series of activities, such as contests on traditional craftsmanship and a forum on thangka art.
