Tibet grants "Qomolangma Literature and Arts Award"

    BEIJING, Feb. 4 -- Tibet has once again granted the highest award in its local literary and arts circle ¨C the fifth "Qomolangma Literature and Art Award," nine years after the previous award was granted.

    The award was presented to 79 different forms of art including song and dance, drama, prose, and fiction which reflect the development of Tibet and its ethnic customs.

Qomolangma Literary and Art Prize and the third Cedai Drolma Art Foundation Prize was held in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, on Monday evening.     Meanwhile, the third "Cedain Zhoima Art Fund Prize" awards party was held at the same time.

    Shen Kaiyun, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Party Secretary of the Federation of Literacy and Art Circles of Tibet Autonomous Region, said that after the fourth "Qomolangma Literature and Arts Award" was successfully awarded in 2001, the two government awards were presented to the Tibetan literary and arts circle again in 2010.
