KABUL, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Afghan and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) eliminated 11 militants in Helmand province south of Afghanistan Friday night, a press release of the alliance said Saturday.
"The ANSF (Afghan National Security Forces) partnered with ISAF forces to conduct an overnight operation in Sistanay village, Nad Ali district, Helmand province," the press release added.
"The initial assessment of damage resulted in 11 insurgents killed," it stressed.
There are no initial reports of damage to buildings or infrastructure.
No innocent Afghan civilians were hurt in these operations.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
