KABUL, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- A district chief was injured as a roadside bomb struck his vehicle in Khost province east of Afghanistan on Saturday, a local official said.
"Governor of Bak district Lutfullah Babakarkhil was on his way to office this morning, when a mine struck his vehicle, wounding him slightly," police officer Gul Pacha told Xinhua.
The officer did not provide more details.
A day earlier on Friday, a similar incident in the neighboring Paktika province claimed the lives of two civilians and wounded three others.
