LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Editor & Publisher (E&P), which has chronicled the American newspaper industry for more than a century, will resume print publication next month, a newspaper report said on Friday.

    The print issue of the magazine will return in February and be published monthly after that, according to the Los Angeles Times.

    The media trade magazine was closed down by the Nielsen Co. on New Year's Eve.

    Duncan McIntosh Co., a magazine and newspaper publisher in Irvine near Los Angeles, bought E&P late Thursday afternoon from the Nielsen Co.

    The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

    "We're going to continue to be the main information source, the main idea source for the newspaper industry," Mark Fitzgerald, who was named E&P's editor Thursday, told the Los Angeles Times. "We're all very excited around here about the news."

    Posting on the magazine's two blogs -- Fitz & Jen Give You the Business and the E&P Pub -- will restart today, Fitzgerald told the newspaper.

    Duncan McIntosh is also publisher of several boating magazines and newspapers.
