MADRID, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona has the chance to immediately avenge Wednesday's exit from the Copa del Rey when Sevilla visits the Camp Nou stadium on Saturday night.
Barcelona was knocked out of the competition it won last season despite wining 1-0 in Sevilla, but Guardiola's side will take heart from its second half performance, when it dominated its rival.
Now the calendar means the two teams meet again just three days later.
With both coaches playing their strongest 11' s on Wednesday there will be few changes in either side, although Pedro Rodriguez could step into the Barcelona team to replace Thierry Henry.
Barcelona defeated Tenerife 5-0 away from home in its last Primera Liga match, but despite the cup run Sevilla has slipped inthe league in recent weeks.
Manolo Jimenez's mean are currently fifth in the table after losing to Atletico Madrid and Racing Santander and a further defeat could see them drop out of the top six.
Meanwhile Real Madrid has a trip to Athletic Club Bilbao's traditionally difficult San Mames Stadium.
Athletic has had a slow start to 2009 with a defeat away to Mallorca and a draw in Malaga, but San Mames is one of the grounds in Spain where Madrid is least popular and home defender Koikili Letxundi has already prophesised a hostile atmosphere for the visitors.
Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has several injury problems. As well as long term absentee Pepe, top scorer Gonzalo Higuain is out with a torn muscle, while Rafael Van der Vaart has a groin injury.
Athletic meanwhile has a doubt over right back Andoni Iriola and his absence would be important against the threat posed by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Saturday's third game sees Osasuna entertain Espanyol. Osasuna reached the last eight of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, but has slipped to 14th place in the league.
Meanwhile Espanyol defeated Zaragoza seven days ago, but is still struggling to find form.
