New Zealand children confirmed dead in Haiti

    WELLINGTON, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The husband and two daughters of a New Zealand woman caught up in the earthquake in Haiti were confirmed to have died, New Zealand media reported on Friday.

    Emily Sanson-Rejouis had been living in a hotel apartment in the capital Port-au-Prince with French-Haitian husband Emmanuel and three young daughters when the 7.0 quake hit on Tuesday.

    The family said as they grieve for Emmanuel Rejouis and daughters Kofie-Jade, 5, and Zenzie, 4, their efforts are focused on proper medical care for Alyahna and support for her mother, Radio New Zealand reported.

    Sanson-Rejouis managed to rescue her youngest daughter, who waslying underneath her father, her step-sister Caroline Larnach said on Thursday. Alyahna, 2, has injuries including at least one broken leg.
