IMF chief to visit Japan, Hong Kong SAR

     WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will travel to Tokyo and Hong Kong SAR, during January 18 to 20, the IMF said on Thursday.

    During his second official visit to Tokyo, caital of Japan, as the IMF's Managing Director, Strauss-Kahn will meet with top officials of the Japanese government on Jan. 18, said the IMF in a statement.

    The IMF chief will also participate in a town hall discussion with students and faculty at the University of Tokyo.

    Following his visit to Japan, Strauss-Kahn will travel to Hong Kong to give a keynote speech at the Asian Financial Forum 2010 on Jan. 20 on the global post-crisis financial landscape and Asia's role in the new economic order.

    The forum is co-organized by the Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

    Strauss-Kahn will also meet with senior officials of the Hong Kong SAR Government to exchange views on world economic outlook and policies that are relevant to Hong Kong, according to the IMF.
