MOSCOW, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The economic cooperation between China and Russia is facing unprecedented opportunities, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui said Wednesday.

    Li made the comments when meeting representatives from Moscow branches of Chinese enterprises.

    He said the year 2009 is an extraordinary year in the history of China-Russia relations.

    The ambassador added that frequent high-level visits had been exchanged between the two countries, with political mutual trust being enhanced, pragmatic cooperation moving forward, cultural exchanges flourishing, and strategic coordination yielding significant achievements.

    The success of the "Year of Russian Language" in China further deepened the understanding and friendship between the two peoples, Li noted.

    He said that China and Russia are facing unprecedented opportunities and enjoying enormous potentials for further cooperation

    The ambassador also expressed his hope that Chinese enterprises would make efforts to expand cooperation fields and look for new chances.
