BANGKOK, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's economy is now continuously recovering as the gross domestic product (GDP) for 2010 is expected to pose a positive growth rate, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said Thursday.
Speaking during an economic seminar, Abhisit said it is possible the GDP will expand at least 3.5 percent this year after it contracted three percent in 2009, the Thai News Agency reported.
Abhisit said the Thai economy showed a recovery sign at the end of last year, while the recovery trend is continuing.
Meanwhile, he said the government has viewed the agriculture sector, which is the country's strong fundamental, will largely contribute to the long-term sustainability.
Hence, the Thai government will focus on developing the country's agriculture sector and food industry, the prime minister said.
